While completing his JD at the Sturm College of Law, Jacob Scholl served as a legal extern for several public and private law offices, including the Federal Public Defender of the District of Colorado and the Hinton Law Office. Alongside his work in the legal field, Jacob Scholl devotes much of his time to volunteering. He is a Kynd Leader for the Denver-based nonprofit Project Helping.
Since its founding, Project Helping has connected more than 9,000 volunteers to impactful volunteer opportunities across the city. The organization operates on a principle known as “kyndfulness,” which encourages gratitude, connection with others, and intentional action to promote mental health and wellness.
Kynd Leaders are volunteers who embody Project Helping’s definition of kyndfulness through their work in the community. Kynd Leaders commit to leading at least one volunteer session per month, and supervise the work of a team of volunteers. In addition to serving as an ambassador for Project Helping, Kynd Leaders also document volunteer activities by taking photos and writing event summaries. These reports are used by the organization to share their work on their website and other outlets.
